Three of our office staff (Chris, Sandi and Maria) took time from their own lives and went to Southern California to serve others. The event was a joint project between the
Illumination Foundation and
Optometry Giving Sight. The goal was to identify and help - through providing basic health care services - those impacted by homelessness. Sandi and Chris reported about 400 patients going through their station alone on their way to see one of the volunteer optometrists.
What made this exceptionally terrific is that these Fig Garden Optometry team members went "on their own" - this was not a particular project any of our doctors were able to participate in. They did see many familiar faces from the Vision Source family, however!
